Goldenfields Water customers will become the first in Australia to access real time data about their water usage, as Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Member for Riverina Michael McCormack launched the Goldenfields Water App last Friday in Junee.
Mr McCormack said the Goldenfields Water app would help reduce water consumption and prevent bill shock.
“Customers will be able to monitor their water consumption at any time and receive live information and updates on leaks, drought restrictions, public health issues, emergency situations and supply interruptions,” Mr McCormack said.
“Goldenfields Water users will be able to report issues and raise requests at their fingertips.”
In 2017 Goldenfields Water received a $100,000 Federal Government grant under the Smart Cities and Suburbs Program to develop the organisations existing water monitoring system, known as MyH2O. Goldenfields Water matched the grant to make the $200,000 app project a reality and to become the first water utility in Australia to offer this kind of service to their customers.
Goldenfields Water General Manager Aaron Drenovski said “the new Goldenfields Water App will provide our customers with the same essential water information as MyH2O, but provide them with a faster and easier way to stay up-to-date with their water consumption from any smartphone or mobile device.”
“It will put our customers at the forefront of water service technology and ensure our 11,000 customer connections will have even better access to information about their essential water supply services anywhere, anytime,” Mr Drenovski said.
The app is now live and available for Goldenfields Water customers to download and sign up. The app can be downloaded from either Google Play or the App Store. Customers that already have an account with the MyH2O service will use the same login details and customers who are new to the system will need to create an account once downloaded.
Customers who download and sign up to the Goldenfields Water App will go into the draw to win a brand new iPhone XR or a $500 gift voucher that will be redeemable towards their water
