Goldenfields Water staff member, Zac Mahon has recently been announced as one of the four winners of the Col Mills Memorial Scholarship.  This is a memorial scholarship available specifically to younger LG Professionals NSW members, in an effort to support them as they develop and grow in their career of local government.

Mr Mahon, along with three other recipients from Liverpool City Council, Gunnedah Shire and Narrabri Shire have been invited to attend the annual two day conference and awards dinner, held in Sydney on the 19- 21 June as part of their scholarship.  At the Awards Dinner, two out of the four scholarship winners will then go on to be awarded the Col Mills Memorial Award and receive registration to attend the LG Professionals National Congress and Business Expo, held in Darwin later this year.

Mr Mahon started with Goldenfields Water in January as their Accountant and has thoroughly enjoyed the transition into his new role.  “Since I started in local government I have had amazing opportunities for professional development as well as developing relationships with mentors who graciously share their knowledge and wisdom with me.”

LG Professionals NSW currently has over 700 members, so it is a great accomplishment for Mr Mahon to be awarded the scholarship.

Goldenfields Water recognises the importance of encouraging staff to advance their skills and congratulate Mr Mahon on his wonderful achievement.
