On Tuesday 1 July 2025, Goldenfields Water was proud to welcome the Hon. Ron Hoenig MP, Minister for Local Government, Steph Cooke MP, Member for Cootamundra, and Cr. Rick Firman, Mayor of Temora Shire, to our workshop for a special tour and meeting with our Chair Alan White, Deputy Chair Graham Sinclair and our Mechanical Team.
The visit highlighted our recent history in delivering successful tradespeople through our local apprenticeships and the recent achievements of Bailey Lowes at both the World Skills Competition and the NSW Training Awards 2025. The workshop tour gave firsthand insight into the ongoing operations, as well as the innovative projects driving the region’s water infrastructure forward.
During the tour, Minister Hoenig, Ms Cooke, and Mayor Firman had the opportunity to engage with Bailey, whose exceptional skills and dedication to his craft have earned him recognition at a national level. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of supporting local talent and fostering growth within our regional industries. Goldenfields Water is committed to creating an environment where emerging professionals, like Bailey, can thrive, and the support of Local Government and these leaders plays a crucial role in these efforts.
Ms Cooke commented on the importance of continued investment in local training programs: “We are incredibly proud of Bailey and his outstanding achievements; his success not only reflects his personal dedication but also the strength of our region’s commitment to vocational training. We are excited to see more young people achieve greatness, and Goldenfields Water plays a key role in nurturing that growth.”
Goldenfields Water are grateful to leaders such as Minister Hoenig and Ms Cooke for their ongoing support of our local workforce and industries. The visit highlighted the importance of effective communication and collaboration between State and local government bodies.
