Pension Rebate

If you currently hold a pension concession card or gold card you may be entitled to a rebate on your water account. If more than one occupant of the property is eligible for a concession, an additional form will need to be completed. However, only one rebate is available per property, you cannot claim the rebate on investment properties.

Non-Eligibility

Tenants are not eligible for the concession; the rebate only applies to the property an eligible concession card holder owns and lives in. However, in some cases, you may still qualify even if you are not the legal owner. For example, if you have life tenancy, are the sole beneficiary or have a similar legal agreement.

Eligibilty

  • Holders of the PCC (Pensioner Concession Card)
  • Holders of a gold card embossed with "TPI" (Totally Permanent Incapacitated)
  • Holders of a gold card embossed with "EDA" (Extreme Disablemet Adjustment)
  • War widow or widower or wholly dependent partner entitles to the Pension Concession Card*

*If you are a war widow or widower or wholly dependent partner but do not have a Pensioner Concession Card, you should contact the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) to test your eligibility for the DVA income support supplement. Eligibility is subject to an income and assets test. Holders of cards other than those listed above are not eligible for the concession. For assistance from the DVA call 133 254.
