Goldenfields Water are replacing 40 kilometres of the trunk main between Temora and Mirrool, as part of the $7 million-dollar capital works project.

The project commenced at the beginning of November 2021 and with construction works progressing well, the project is on track for completion by December 2024, pending weather.

Construction of the project is being completed in house by Goldenfields Water construction staff.

The renewal begins near the Thanowring Road Pump Station, located at the Goldfields Way and Thanowring Road crossing.  The renewed pipeline then continues through Pucawan and Quandary before finishing at Quades Lanes, approximately 10 km south of Ariah Park on the Burley Griffin Way.

Goldenfields Water have laid approximately 12 kilometres of pipeline, with a target of reaching the halfway mark by the end of the 2022/23 financial year.

Chairperson for Goldenfields Water, Mr Mathew Stadtmiller said “this project is going to be highly beneficial not only for our rural customers located directly on the renewed trunk main, but for all customers who are provided with water supply from Thanorwring Road through to Barellan.

These customers will experience an increase in water pressure and reliability.

The upgraded pipeline size will also give Goldenfields Water the ability to connect more rural customers to our scheme and allow for future growth in the region.”
