Goldenfields is undertaking a trial of new mains flushing technology and an inspection program during August in the Junee Township.

Why?

  • The trial of new mains flushing technology is being undertaken to try and minimise current discoloured water events.
  • In addition, and during the trial, staff and contractors will be inspecting the pipe network to identify additional aged assets that will be placed on future renewal schedules

What Does this mean for the Customer?

Customers will see staff, plant and contractors working within nature strips and roadways and may experience:

  • discoloured water
  • pressure reduction and/or water outages.
  • There is a potential for burst mains during this program - our staff will be on standby to work on any issues as they arise; however, some outages may be incurred for individual residents during this time.

These issues are temporary and should be resolved within a few hours of the work being undertaken in your area.

What do Customers need to do?

  • If you experience discoloured water after staff have attended your area, please run a tap closest to your water meter until the water clears.
  • Do not wash clothes until you have checked your water quality first.
  • If the water does not clear after 10 minutes of flushing, contact Goldenfields Water staff who are available 24 hours a day.
